Joe Dethloff
OWNER & FOUNDER
Joe started Breakwater Construction over 10 years ago. The lifelong Northeast Florida resident graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in building construction. Now, after years of experience, he is an expert in his field. Joe is a licensed building contractor and swimming pool contractor with the knowledge and skills to tackle the most demanding jobs. His commitment to his company and his customers is very important to him, but he is still a family man. When he isn’t hard at work, he is spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children. They enjoy camping together and spending their days outside in the beautiful Florida weather.
Chip Stevens
SUPERINTENDENT
Chip grew up in Lake City Florida working on the family farm, where he first fell in love with building things and working with his hands. He graduated from Santa Fe College with a degree in building technology. Chip has now been in the construction field for over ten years. He moved to Jacksonville to pursue a career as a residential job site superintendent and began working at Breakwater. For Chip, the biggest reward in the construction industry is to see his work when it's complete and for the customer to be thoroughly satisfied with the finished product. He loves all aspects of building construction. Outside of construction, his passion is for the outdoors. Chip loves fishing, hunting, playing golf and enjoying life with his friends and family.
